Dries Buytaert - Drupal

Dries Buytaert, the man from Belgium who was born on November 19, 1978, the founder of the Drupal CMS. Initially in 2000, Dries Buytaert and Hans Snijder made wireless Internet network (wireless) along with eight friends at the University of Antwerp. They then created a software called "message board", with the aim to communicate and exchange information about LAN project required.

After graduation Dries, the software did not have a name. Then Dries and his friends decided software "message board" was to be published as a website on the internet. Initially, Dries named drop.org. And in January 2001, Dries decided to release a software message board with the name "Drupal" in order for others to use and develop it. Drupal itself consists of droo-puhl word, derived from English, but the pronunciation with the Dutch language is druppel.

Drupal itself is a Content Management System (CMS) that can be used to build a dynamic website, which is used untul community web portals, discussion sites, corporate websites, internal applications, etc.

On December 1, 2007, Dries announced, along with co-founder Jay Batson launched a start-up called Acquia. Acquia is an open source commercial software company that provides products, services, and technical support for Drupal. Acquia wants to Drupal what Red Hat is to Linux. In 2009, Acquia help re-launched on Drupal Whitehouse.gov




Surgical Robot



Imagine if one day a robot can perform routine procedures in the operating room. Amazing! Bioengineers at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, United States, have created a robot that can look for lesions or wounds in human organs and take samples in a single session all without doctor's supervision. Researchers hope the development one day, robots work independently on basic surgery. In the future, it would be very useful. Provided that, this technology is not misused later.



With nicknames biopsy Bot, the robot relies on 3-D ultrasound technology to its motion. Ultrasound scan serves as an "eye robot" allows doc bot to find the target. With a sophisticated artificial technology, data processing 3-D robot specific commands to the mechanical arm that examine the lesion and to take samples. The generation of surgical robots have been 93% effective in the most recent tests, and researchers at Duke University sure about the feasibility of a robot.

"One of the beauty of this system is that all hardware components available on the market," said team leader, professor Stephen Smith. "We believe that this is the first step in showing that with some modifications, such systems can be built without develop a new technology from the beginning."

One day, maybe the era of robots will be formed.
Depending on how we deal with technological developments. Perhaps, someday there will be a robot that replaces our work in the office, even a police robot.
